You know privacy, being in the outdoors, and staying in places that make you feel calm and at peace on your elopement is top priority. One of my favorite things about visiting Minnesota’s North Shore is finding places that make the trip feel even more memorable. Sure you could stay in a hotel, but here me out because as a local Northern Minnesota Elopement Photographer, I have North Shore stays for your elopement that are way cooler than a hotel (and will get you way prettier photos).

Stay #1: Klarhet Domes in Lutsen, MN

I honestly can’t put my finger on exactly what it is about this place, but it is like stepping into another world. Peace, calm, and connection to nature like no other. The hosts are a wonderful family, and the domes are wayyyy bigger than you think (and even include a full size bathroom). Everything seems to have been put together with intention and love, and I 10/10 recommend. 

Specifically, I love that you can feel like you are in the heart of the outdoors, but still have running water. This makes it really easy to get ready for your elopement day.

Stay #2: North Shore Camping Co. in Two Harbors, MN

I am so sad I didn’t know this place existed until recently. This place is epic. The tents are beautiful, each of them have privacy, and they actually stay at a good temperature year round. The best part is the sense of family and community from all who work there. Plus, there was live music, multiple fun stay packages offered, AND a stick library for dogs. If that doesn’t showcase how cool this place is, I don’t know what will. 

Eloping couples this is an excellent place for photos if you like the outdoors. The tents have an aesthetic vibe, fire pits for post wedding s’mores, and nice decks to enjoy some morning coffee. Also if you want family along, this is a great place to rent out multiple tents!

Stay #3: Wildhaven in Two Harbors, MN

Now I haven’t actually been here yet, but it looks so fun. A yurt experience that gets great reviews, and is nearby to a lot of great places on the North Shore. It also includes a hot tub and sauna!! Hoping to stay here someday soon!

For the eloping couples who want more of an outdoors experience. They even have kayaks you can use as a part of your adventure!

Stay #4: Cardinal Cliffs Bed + Breakfast

A truly unique place with the kindest hosts who built this home with so much love which shows for their guests. Jim and Lori are so kind, prepare a hot breakfast for you each morning, and have the best local tips. I’m not surprised at all they have a 5 star rating from multiple people.

Their place has all the best spots to get ready for elopement couples, and even comes with a private cliffside view that is perfect for a first look or even a place to read your vows. Not to mention, it is really close to one of my favorite coffee spots, Cedar Coffee Company.
